More than 10 years ago, the Lipault brand was created in Paris. Proud of its origins and of the city where it still produces its products, the brand wanted to dedicate a capsule collection to the City of Light, inspired by the timeless toile de Jouy pattern.

A short history lesson:

Christophe Philippe Oberkamph was the first to print toile de Jouy fabric starting in 1760. The fabric owes its name to Jouy-en-Josas, the town where it was printed for the first time. Subsequently, not one but nearly 30,000 toile de Jouy patterns would be created. Long neglected, the pattern has again found favour on our clothing, accessories and in decoration.

The capsule collection:

For this autumn-winter season, Lipault has reworked the toile de Jouy pattern with the addition of details of its own choosing. The long-established shop in Rue de Rennes is featured in the pattern and the bags are placed side-by-side with adorable little angels. You will also recognize landmarks of the French capital such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
